I think my first psychology experiment was one I had to do near the start of university. I had to ask children of different ages to draw houses with chimneys, and it was about how the way you see things and draw things changes as you get older.
(As far as I remember, very young children drew houses with chimneys pointing out to the side, whereas older children draw them more going straight up. But it’s been a while!)

In my area of psychology we don’t really do experiments — in fact, I’ve never had to do any experiments during my time as a scientist!

I don’t really do experiments as we typically think of them. My first research project was looking at how students use social media platforms in educational environments.

In the first experiment I ever conducted we made people to think about a nostalgic moment to induce feelings of nostalgia. The point of the experiment was to test whether making people feel nostalgic would make them less prejudiced towards certain social groups such as overweight people or older adults.
