In my research, I talk to people with dementia about what they like to do for fun, what it’s like to do things with other people, and what they think about the special museum sessions that they went to (which is where I met them).
When I go the museum sessions, we end up talking about all kinds of things! Sometimes we’re looking at artwork and we’ll talk about what they think about it, or sometimes just generally the things they’re interested in and that they want to talk about it. Sometimes people want to talk about things they’re finding difficult, but usually because we’re at a fun event they want to talk about fun things.
I really enjoy it. It’s really great getting to know people.
