• Question: How do people get dementia ??

      We’re still not sure exactly what causes dementia. There are different types of dementia and they might be caused my different things. For example a type of dementia called vascular dementia is caused by not enough blood getting to the brain which can be caused by the blood vessels narrowing or having strokes. (Though not everyone who has a stroke will get vascular dementia). But the most common type of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease and we’re not sure exactly what causes it.
