Loads of reasons! It’s becoming the norm, to join social media in some form. It’s a way to stay connected with our friends and family, we can use it to keep up to date with news (and celebrity gossip), we can use it to keep track of our lives (taking pictures of where we go and what we do), and it’s a way to pass the time.
