• Question: Why do people on social media post pictures that make it appear as though they have a perfect life but in fact they don't?

Really great question! There are loads of reasons this could happen. One reason is that we post what we think others want to see – people normally like seeing nice things and quirky pictures, so we will edit the pictures or take pictures that really don’t tell the truth. We also like to be liked by others, so we might think posting fun pictures will make us more liked! We could also be posting pictures of who we wish we were, rather than who we actually are (making ourselves look taller or our hair looking bigger!) We also get to edit pictures after we take them to make us look more like who we want to be. Hope this makes sense!
